Position Summary:
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to learn event planning, administration, donor engagement, strategic planning, marketing, public relations (PR), and coordination, as well as nonprofit ministry operations. The intern will work closely with the Director of Development & Events to assist in planning and managing three Christian concerts this fall, along with multiple other ministry events throughout the season. Duties will include sponsorship development, event promotion, PR outreach, using event software to track ROI/ROE, planning, and setup, and logistical coordination—providing valuable real-world experience in both ministry and professional event management.

· Possess a passion for reaching children with the Gospel.
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task and take initiative.
· Exhibited flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
· Ability to maintain a willingness to learn and a teachable spirit.
· Reside in the Hampton Roads area and be available for regular in-person meetings with the Director.
· Willing and able to travel for events as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assist with event administration and organization, including mailings, ticketing, timelines, and expense tracking.
· Use even software to track ROI/ROE, maintain event data, and support planning/setup processes.
· Make phone calls to sponsors, donors, and volunteers.
· Support donor care and relationship-building efforts.
· Coordinate with affiliated church volunteers and ministry partners.
· Help promote events through various communication channels and PR opportunities.
· Participate in outreach and fundraising activities.
· Travel as needed to assist with on-site event operations.
Learning Opportunities:
· Develop skills in strategic planning, marketing, public relations, the use of event management software, and event coordination for ministry initiatives.
· Learn how to track and analyze ROI/ROE for events to evaluate ministry impact.
· Gain interpersonal communication experience with staff, donors, volunteers, and the public.
· Learn the inner workings of a nonprofit, faith-based ministry.
· Network and collaborate with CEF local chapters.
Reports To: Director of Development & Events
Hours & Compensation: 10-20 hours per week. Externship opportunity for college credit, or paid internship at an hourly rate based on experience.

Child Evangelism Fellowship of Virginia serves churches and individuals by equipping them to fulfill the great commission. We help them to be an ambassador for Christ, equipping them to reconcile the lost with the message of the gospel.
CEF Virginia serves all of the state chapters throughout Virginia. We have several different ministries for children such as the Good News Club, 5-Day Club and CYIA. We host several events through these ministries thereby serving the churches with proven children’s ministry training, materials and methods. This in turn allows us to lead the chapter communities in evangelizing children
